THE CHATEAU LISTRAN 1996:

Beautiful robe with a deep, intense red with a delicate hue of cherry, almost bigarreau. This wine of excellent presentation is full of life. Pleasant and delicate aroma rapidly developing to a touche of lime-blossom tea with a background of ripe fruit. Soft and rich attack which is followed by an elegant, delicate and long taste with ripe and pronounced tannins. The aftertaste, still somewhat steady, will soften and bloom with ageing, until around 2003-2005. A nice bottle is expected by then.

THE CHATEAU LISTRAN 1997:

Beautiful ruby-red robe with vermillon sheen. This shiny wine, with a nice looking fresh hue has an excellent presentation. The nose is nicely open, still reminding the flavour of the fruit. Touche compote of agrumes. The attack is soft and rich, followed by an elegant, delicate and savoury taste, with a pronounced freshness. The well-balanced taste develops deep in the mouth; the brightening aftertaste completes the tasting with a definite relief. A very palatable wine. Must be allowed to breathe a few hours before tasting if opened before 2004.
