In the XIXth century, the Château Listran was a famous estate of the commune of
Jau-Dignac-and-Loirac where one practised there not only vine growing but also
cattle and sylviculture. Several owners followed one another, of which the
royal family of Spain. This estate was already left abandoned since
several tens of years when it became property of the
Crété family in 1984.
On this estate of 100 hectares, we practise the
mixed-farming like formerly. Located on a vast gravely
croup of more than thirty hectares, the vineyard profits from a
remarkable moderate climate thanks to the proximity of the "rivière" -
the estuary of the Gironde 14 kilometres wide in this place - and of the
Ocean at less than 10 km. Classified as "Cru Bourgeois" since 1988, the
Château Listran is a wine presenting an agreeably fruity bouquet, and its smoothness
and its tannins are worthy of a great Médoc wine
